Forza Horizon 6 is hitting PCs on May 19, 2026, and its massive Japan-based world looks stunning—but if you want smooth racing at high speeds, you’ll need the right graphics tweaks. From early tech notes at Forza.net and BoxThisLap, here’s how experienced players are squeezing maximum FPS without sacrificing visuals.
1. The “Big Three” for Performance Gains
If your FPS is dipping during races, start with these three:
Environmental Geometry Quality: Dropping this from Extreme to Ultra or High can boost FPS up to 15%. This mainly affects distant objects you barely notice at 200 mph.
Shadow Quality: Keep this at High. Extreme shadows eat roughly 16% more GPU power but barely make a difference when you’re flying through Tokyo’s neon streets.
Reflection Quality: Lower this to High for mid-range cards. Save Ultra/Extreme reflections for Photo Mode, where every puddle counts.
These three settings alone often make the biggest difference without ruining immersion.
2. Resolution & Scaling Tweaks
Smooth visuals at speed depend on clear textures and stable scaling:

Even the best settings won’t help if your system chokes:
SSD Installation: FH6 clocks in at 157 GB. Running it on an HDD causes “streaming hitches” where textures fail to load mid-race.
Shader Pre-compilation: Always run the initial optimization screen after updates. It prevents stutters common in modern PC ports.
VRAM Management:
