A wig decision has come up during our costume rehearsals. The character wears a jacket with a high collar, and the hair needs to read clearly from the back rows without catching on the fabric. We have kept two bob options for the next fitting. The shorter option exposes more of the collar. I was looking for clearer terms and came across bob haircut lengths while trying to describe the silhouettes consistently. We need to test the shape during the actual blocking. A static headshot will not settle the decision. We can compare the wigs from a few rows back. I would use the same lighting for both comparisons. We have only a small costume budget, so I would prefer a reversible test using pins before committing to scissors. The wig also needs to look consistent when the actor sits down. What would you check before trimming an otherwise usable wig? |
