I want to give a friend a scarf, but I cannot ask her to try on colors without spoiling the surprise. Her photos vary in lighting, so I cannot reliably assign her a season. She often wears dark denim, simple knitwear and a couple of patterned shirts. That tells me what she likes wearing, but not necessarily which shade of scarf will look good close to her face. I was reading about personal color analysis because I wanted to understand why two versions of the same color can have such different effects. I do not want to treat an online chart as a diagnosis based on one photograph. Would you look first for a color she already wears near her face, or a quieter neutral that can sit with her coats? I can choose among a warm rust, a cool berry and a muted blue, with the same fabric in each shade. I could look through a few recent photos for repeated color choices, though I know cameras and filters are imperfect. I plan to include a gift receipt so she can exchange it if the shade feels wrong in person. The fabric texture matters to her too. For a gift when you cannot test fabrics together, which clues would you trust, and which would you ignore? |
